Angelaki is the medicine practice of Amba Sepie - artist, teacher, writer, DNA search volunteer and evolutionary astrologer. I've spent decades in the university system, teaching kaitiaki principles and writing about the deeply connected Indigenous knowledge systems, around the globe, and how all humans might apprentice to this. More recently, I got a little weary of just talking and writing about kinship so I decided to draw my way back into it - what you see here is my joy, each creation infused with learning deeply about who I am drawing. I say 'who' because Earth is alive, everything is. Each being you see here has been learned about, learned with, and then created in art form. So when you help support this venture and wear or use these creations, you are extending that relationship.
I've been incubating design dreams all my life, so I manifested a wonder playroom of curiosities here in Ĺtautahi (Christchurch) Aotearoa New Zealand to share my vision. I also take requests, so if you'd like to hire me to make something in particular just get in touch!
Angelaki fuses real world messy art, collage, digital illustration, bird song and cups of tea - all manner of botanicals, mycelium and a little bit of woo are integrated with a touch of revolutionary spirit! xx
